ALA Accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner Assessment & Management

Specialist lymphoedema care designed for people with neurological conditions — keeping you comfortable, mobile, and in your shoes.

If you have a pelvic injury or neurological disorder that affects your mobility — such as a spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, or motor neurone disease — your body’s natural ability to pump fluid back from your legs, feet, or genital area can be disrupted. This often leads to lower limb swelling (lymphoedema) that needs skilled management to prevent it getting worse and to keep you comfortably in your shoes and as independent as possible.

Our Accredited Lymphoedema Therapists specialise in working with people who have neurological conditions, understanding exactly how your injury or disease affects your body’s fluid systems. We will assess your swelling, teach you practical techniques tailored to your abilities, and work with you and your carers to keep symptoms under control at home.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Specialist assessment of lower limb and genital lymphoedema related to your specific disability and mobility limitations.
  • Practical therapy techniques and equipment — such as compression garments and pneumatic compression pumps — designed to work with your body’s capabilities.
  • Simple, easy-to-follow education for you and your carers so you feel confident managing your lower limb oedema as part of your daily routine.
  • Seamless coordination with your other nursing care — continence management, wound care, and mobility support — to prevent complications.

Home Based and Face to Face Assesments

We come to you — because a phone call can never replace what a clinician sees in person.

Assessing your continence care needs over the telephone or computer screen simply does not work — and it can actually cost you money. When our clinical specialist visits your home in person, we see exactly how your continence management is affecting your daily life, your participation in activities, and your use of your home.

Many people forget to mention the catheter supplies they use, the continence pads stocked in different rooms, the bowel routine equipment, or the specialised products essential to their toileting and dignity. If these are not documented during a real assessment, they will not be funded by NDIS.

We also understand that telephone or computer-based assessments can be overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to follow — especially when you have a disability that affects your concentration, memory, or communication. Our face-to-face home visits mean we can observe how your continence care actually works in practice, identify what is really needed, see what can be updated, and ask the right questions in real time.

We guarantee that by doing a home-based assessment we will leave you with clear, documented evidence of all the continence products and equipment you rely on or need to use — so your funding covers what you truly use.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Personal, in-home nursing assessment that captures every continence product and piece of equipment you actually rely on — nothing gets forgotten or missed.
  • Real-world observation of how your continence management impacts your daily routines, home use, and participation in activities that matter to you.
  • Clear, documented recommendations for continence products and supplies that strengthen your NDIS funding justification.
  • Practical guidance delivered face-to-face so you understand your continence care plan and can follow it confidently at home.

Consumable Management & Budget Optimisation

Are your consumable products draining your NDIS budget faster than they should? We can fix that.

Many people with NDIS funding are spending far more on consumable products — dressings, continence supplies, compression garments, and specialised equipment — than they need to.

Habits and outdated techniques mean products are often overused or wasted, draining your NDIS consumables budget quickly and creating financial stress. Our clinical team reviews exactly how products are being used in your home, identifies where wasteful patterns have developed, and teaches you and your carers the right techniques to use each product correctly and efficiently. This means your budget goes further, you get better clinical outcomes, and you have clear evidence to show your NDIS coordinator that you have optimised your consumable use — strengthening your case for funding renewals and additional support.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Detailed review of your current consumable use and identification of uneconomical patterns or habits that drain your consumables budget.
  • Expert education on correct product application and usage techniques tailored to your specific condition and abilities.
  • Practical strategies to reduce waste while maintaining or improving your clinical outcomes and comfort.
  • Documented evidence of optimised consumable management to support your NDIS funding reviews and justifications.

NDIS Reporting & Functional Assessments

Rock-solid clinical reports that give your NDIS planner the evidence to fund what you actually need

Securing appropriate NDIS funding requires clear, expert clinical justification — not vague letters or generic templates. Our comprehensive assessments provide the exact evidence-based clinical insights needed to form a rock-solid foundation for your necessary equipment, assistive technology, and ongoing care services.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Medically justified clinical reports explicitly structured for NDIS plan reviews, appeals, and Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) submissions.
  • Functional assessments to secure necessary specialist consumable funding with clear clinical rationale.
  • Collaborative communication with NDIS planners, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), and Support Coordinators to ensure your needs are understood and funded.
